The acting career of Reese Witherspoon began to grow after she attended Stanford University. Her early successes in her acting career were in movies like Pleasantville and Election, but her role as Elle Woods was the turning point for her. She put off college for a year to concentrate on the acting profession. Then, at Stanford University she briefly studied English before returning to the work force. Her television career began with House of Lies Whitney. Also, she was a character on The Dictator (1998) and The Incredible Burt Wonderstone (2006). She is a talented artist, and has been featured in a number of galleries.
