Avery Sunshine
Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. Her career path has taken her all over the world, from Broadway to European events and clubs, and even to the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine has the name Denise White. Although she is a resident of Atlanta now, Sunshine is from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she started out as a musician by singing and playing in the church in town. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her journey of music in the Atlanta's R&B music scene. The first track to showcase her voice was Stalk You which was a song from Japan's house 12 track. Since then, it has been remixed and a component of her set. She also contributed to The Fighting Temptations soundtrack. In 2005, she was the pianist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday (a Grammy and Tony Award-winning performer) approached her for the position of director of the choral section of Dreamgirls in Atlanta during the National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine was recognized nationally during her four daily performances during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She was invited to perform at President Barack Obama's 2009 inauguration.
